I made these images on Thursday and Friday last week on my way to the train station to get home. There’s nothing really remarkable about them, however, the process of creating them was fun beginning with the camera. I made these pictures using a Hasselblad 500c/m and a 80mm Planar lens. I recorded the photos on TMAX 100 and I didn’t use a light meter to set the exposure, instead relying on my decades of experience and knowing how to play with the f/16 rule. It was also fun to developed the film. I used Blazinol, which is I believe also known as “Canadian Rodinal” (actually made in Germany, but marketed as Blazinol in Canada) using semi-stand development. Scanning the images was also a learning experience. I’m still relatively new at that and found that setting the black and white points in the scanning process really useful. The key is to set the black and white points to record the most information you want to retain, but no more.
