On Sunday, September 11, 2016, I joined the Stewards of Cootes to photograph a clean up of Tews Falls. Our group, however, ended up following a different creek, which is easy to do and ended up at at Webster Falls. It was a great morning for a hike, but also a very busy morning of cleaning up. We crossed several creeks, each time an adventure of stepping on slippery rocks, sliding on slick roots or traversing fallen tree trunks. There were many muddy sections as a result of Saturday’s rain. Even the camera I used on this shoot, the Nikon D750 with the Nikkor 24-120mm lens had a mud bath.
The cache of trash on this clean up included disposable plastic water bottles, Tim Horton’s cups, and aluminum cans. We also hauled up iron rods, which do not make for good walking sticks. All told we brought up 6 bags full of trash plus the scrap metal.
