I shoot headshots for a “Bay Street” firm (think of Wall Street) and they recently hired two new employees. I’ve photographed the employees there in the past and I offered to update anyone else’s photo. The new photos are generally consistent with the old photos, for example similar background, same aspect ratio, the subjects head takes roughly the same proportion in the frame, etc., but I have changed the lighting to add more modelling or dimensionality to the face. I use a Westscott Rapid Beauty dish with a Yongnuo flash. The light is on camera right about 60cm from the subject. My “studio” is a corner office with floor to ceiling windows comprising two walls. I shot at f/2.8, 1/125s and ISO 200. The shutter speed was adjusted to render the background buildings a little darker than the subject. I used the Fujifilm X-Pro2 and XF16-55mm mostly toward the long-end of the zoom range.
